Want to know the emissions history of a California vehicle?Wondering if the car you are considering buying has passed smog? Or if it had any issues doing so? How about if a smog certificate is authentic? Well now you can find out! Just snap a picture of a car's License Plate and see all of the smog tests that car has ever taken, and the results, along with other useful vehicle information!
How it works:
The app uses the iPhone camera to snap a picture of a License Plate (you can also upload a photo from your Album), and as long as it is legible, the app will automatically convert the plate number to text and just press submit to see the results.
The vehicle data is sourced directly from the DMV, so it is the "official" record of the state, so you know it is accurate!
As far as the inputted license plate numbers, the app itself does not store the number or the vehicle's data.
This app is completely free, has no ads, and you can make an unlimited amount of searches!
Note: Not all vehicles will show results, as new license plate numbers do not yet have associated smog tests, and some vehicles (like the Prius) are exempt.
